Kristyna McDonald, born in Praha, was always torn between her love of traveling, gastronomy, different cultural and language experience as much as her passion for fashion, modeling and jewelry. Having visited different parts of the world, she finally settled in world's mecca of it all, Tokyo. She entered the Japanese pearl industry 22 years ago and it was a love at first sight, it felt like being in the nucleus of the ultimate pure pearl perfection.. In those years she's graduated from Gemological Institute of America in Pearls, exhibited pearls around the world and has devoted her life to sourcing the most beautiful natural cultured pearls from Tahiti, Australia, Indonesia, Philippines, China and Japan.
One of my favorite fashion designers Valentino Garavani once said "I just want to make woman beauuutiful."
And that's exactly what I like to do with the pearls I source and the jewelry I design. Finding a perfect gem for woman's personal coloring and making her feel like the most desirable person in the whole universe. The most stunning Birthday girl. The gorgeous star of a red carpet. The queen of the ball. The princess of the graduation. The bride of the year.... Elegant and beautiful. SIMPLY HER.
My ultimate goal is to create a piece of jewelry that tells it's stories for generations and the memories of those special moments live on in our lives and families forever. In this crazy world of instant messaging and social media frenzy I still want to believe it should be about the beauty of the life we live and how we live it. We should try our best to be present where we are. Sometimes it really is about the simple things we're taking for granted. I'm a fan of glamour, yet grace, the rare Audrey Hepburn kind, the true spirit of a mind and the simple things we should cherish the most. I try to infuse my own personal values of pure, natural and organic life into all the designs I create.
